Fundacion Nacional Batuta was founded in 1991, and since then, has been working to increase the enjoyment, practice and teaching of music in Colombia, and to generate greater opportunities for the exercise of cultural rights in Colombian society. The foundation believes that by engaging people in music, they can improve their quality of life and transform communities. Previous research shows that Batuta has a positive effect on beneficiaries, developing leadership, respect, self-esteem and resilience, as well as contributing to better educational achievements.

Argentina

Crear Vale La Pena is an art and social transformation organisation, founded more than 20 years ago in Buenos Aires, to transform life projects using creativity as a tool. CVLP apply creative techniques through live and online experiences, to identify, empower and combine best characteristics of people, teams and communities they work with. Their line of action are the following: education, well-being and health, as well as community. They work alongside different national and international organisations and participate at events all over the world.

Brazil

Redes da Mare is a civil society institution that produces knowledge, projects and actions, through five structural work axes, in search of quality of life and guarantee of rights for the more than 140 thousand residents of the 16 favelas of Maré. Mare’s mission is to ensure the effectiveness of rights for the population of the 16 favelas of Maré’s complex.

Peru

Teatro La Plaza is a Peruvian theatre company set up in 2003 and led by Chela De Ferrari. Located in Lima, its international programme combines classic and contemporary drama with a strong emphasis on supporting the development of new Peruvian writing. Between 2017-19, La Plaza created a production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet with neurodiverse actors and for neurodiverse audiences.

IPEARTE (Para’s Institute of Arts and Education) is an institute that has the purpose of training children, young people and adults, cultivating Ethics and Virtues in the Human Being. Foster voluntary work as a social contribution to the society in which we live. Respect for each individual, the right to exist as a free and conscious person.
